Weddings are Delicious
I had the magical opportunity to attend my sisters wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was delightful...everything I had always wanted. Yes I am booing winter weddings! So here's the fun part, Katie was brave enough, to Dad's dismay, to let me make her wedding cake. Four layers of perfection (with raspberry filling) I would say. Ha ha!

4th of July
I know it's August but I wanted to post my Independence Day pics. I love the 4th of July. A day full of fireworks, fun, and most importantly freedom. I hope you all stopped to think about what freedom really means. How we can worship however we'd like, wear what we want to, say what we are thinking, and have the opportunity to become what we would like to become. It's an honor. For our Independence Day, Rob and I traveled down south and went to the Grand Canyon. We bought ourselves a National Parks Annual pass so along the way we could stop at Bryce National Park as well. It was all so beautiful. See for yourself...

Two Things...

1. Today I had a lunch break adventure. I want to make a good impression for my first week, and I happened to conveniently run out of deodorant this morning. So I head to the nearest grocery store, find the most expensive antiperspirant I've ever purchased, and head to the register. Once the cashier has rung up my single item she then just stands there and looks away. I'm holding a ten dollar bill out to her. After about a minute (or what felt like a minute) I "ahemed" in her direction, to which she looked confusedly my way and a light bulb fortunately flashed on. She took the money. It seemed as though in all her time at Harmons, she had only run plastic. To my delight, adding insult to injury, she did not place the change in my hand, like every other grocery store clerk. No no, she lightly tosses the bill at me. The laughter I stifled and wondered if I really smelled that bad. Ha ha!
2. As I am ever current about "hip" comings and goings, please check out the website of Bompas & Parr. It's a pair of gentlemen, from the UK, who make the most outrageous confections, as art. Their specialty seems to be jelly architecture, and they were featured on the news tonight, for an inhaled version of gin and tonic. Need I say more. The photo above is a link to this sugary delight.
