Birthday Surprise

Ok so my birthday was actually two weeks ago but I'm just getting around to writing this...

Hola! Rob decided that he was going to go to Mexico for my birthday this year...by himself. He had the opportunity to do a week long study abroad in Zacatecas, Mexico with the civil engineering department. So I was left to fend for myself, and I had a mighty fine time! I definitely missed him but it was kind of a fun change. I brought out all my bad habits, spent exhorbitant amonuts of time at the gym, had girl time, and slept soundly sprawled accross the entire bed.

What I'm really writing to talk about though, is the fun present Rob put together. He sent me on a little scavenger hunt. For every day he was gone he had one of our neighbors text message me a clue about where one of my birthday presents were hidden. Inside the clue was also a hint as to what the gift was. I got way too many gifts this year but it sure was fun! It's was probably more fun getting a clue and going on the hunt rather than actually having a gift. I always had something to look forward to. I never knew he was so creative. Thanks to everyone that helped! I had a really great time!

Luck of the Irish

I have sure been getting a lot of lemonade these past few weeks from life's lemons. Work is going extraoridnarily well--in more ways than one--and I've realized that things sure work out for me, pretty much always. So the lemonade today came from a lemon of a car crash from 3 weeks ago. I was rear ended and the car damages were so expensive that insurance totaled it. I was not excited about the prospect of finding a new car. But today, thanks to a wonderful thing called LDS fleet sales, we got a fantastic car, well under our budget, that's a far cry better than our old one. The sugar to sweeten this lemonade was this: I have had so little work to take care of this week--due to a trade show that whisked away most of the office staff--that Rob and I were able to take care of everything with the car and I did not fall behind. It was basically a stress free experience. And believe you me, I can bring stress into anything. Amazing! Timing is everything.

So thank you lucky March. I'm looking forward to what's in store for the next 27 days!
