Happy Halloween!

Boo! I absolutely love Halloween. I love costumes. I love all of the adorable kids with their tiny outfits, cute candy holders, and even cuter lisps and stutters when saying "Trick or Treat". I love the hype around something so silly. I love that we are ridiculous enough to choose to scare ourselves and that we make a holiday of it.

Today, because of the invention of Halloween costumes, I was able to wear sweats to work. That's far better then candy my friends. I was a Care Bear, specifically Good-Luck Bear. I teamed with none other than Bedtime Bear (co-worker Joleen), to win the couples costume contest. No big deal. Yes there will be pictures as soon as they are uploaded. We have quite the fall spread. So check back later for a Care Bear Stare like you've never seen before!

Fall

"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms."

-You've Got Mail-

So I surprised Rob the other day with his very own bouquet of newly sharpened pencils. I had scoured Provo for a DVD copy of this delightful movie and finally found it at FYE. Hallelujah. I was afraid I was going to have to wait weeks for my surprise.

I have been embracing the new crisp weather instead of dreading the cold like I usually do. Fall is sure beautiful, and over all to fast.
There is this huge tree outside of the wall of the windows in the conference room at work and it is all orange and gold against the green grass and gray sky. I want to sit in there all day.

So go put on a sweater (hooray!) and take a walk. It's wonderful and refreshing and you won't regret it.

Weddings are Delicious

I had the magical opportunity to attend my sisters wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was delightful...everything I had always wanted. Yes I am booing winter weddings! So here's the fun part, Katie was brave enough, to Dad's dismay, to let me make her wedding cake. Four layers of perfection (with raspberry filling) I would say. Ha ha!

Two Things...

1. Today I had a lunch break adventure. I want to make a good impression for my first week, and I happened to conveniently run out of deodorant this morning. So I head to the nearest grocery store, find the most expensive antiperspirant I've ever purchased, and head to the register. Once the cashier has rung up my single item she then just stands there and looks away. I'm holding a ten dollar bill out to her. After about a minute (or what felt like a minute) I "ahemed" in her direction, to which she looked confusedly my way and a light bulb fortunately flashed on. She took the money. It seemed as though in all her time at Harmons, she had only run plastic. To my delight, adding insult to injury, she did not place the change in my hand, like every other grocery store clerk. No no, she lightly tosses the bill at me. The laughter I stifled and wondered if I really smelled that bad. Ha ha!

2. As I am ever current about "hip" comings and goings, please check out the website of Bompas & Parr. It's a pair of gentlemen, from the UK, who make the most outrageous confections, as art. Their specialty seems to be jelly architecture, and they were featured on the news tonight, for an inhaled version of gin and tonic. Need I say more. The photo above is a link to this sugary delight.

Look what I made!

So I was feeling crafty these past few days. I don't think that is a new feeling for me, it just seemed my muse was out and it was time to go to work. So I finally figured out how to complete our bedroom decorations! I was so excited! It's really easy: Buy wooden letters, trace the letters on scrapbook paper and cut out slightly smaller, then mod-podge the paper to the letters. Vua la! Happy Mothers Day!

Garden

Welcome Spring! I made a liar out of myself with that last post. Back to regular blogging in a couple weeks? Woops! Let's try a few months. How about a quick update then shall we?:
  1. I got married. No big deal, huh?
  2. I moved back to Provo, from Colorado Springs.
  3. I recently joined the work force following a VERY long and aggravating search. I am now an executive assistant, meaning I landed my very first real adult salaried job.
  4. My sister got engaged last night! (Two weddings for my parents in a matter of 6 months!)
  5. My tennis game has vastly improved.
  6. We are growing a garden!
I'm so excited to show you the progress of the garden. Funny how the little things in life are the best. The first one sprouting is the broccoli! We'll have to transplant outside soon!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya, Tomorrow!

Ok so I have not been blogging in a long time! I wanted to say that I just love this green background on my blog and that I will be back to normal, semi-regular blogging, in just a couple of weeks. YAY! Wedding=B-U-S-Y. Phew!

Well I wanted to post a few words of encouragement as I don't have much else going on in my world that my other blog doesn't already cover. So keep your heads up and your spirits bright as we slowly but surely move out of this sunless winter weather!

The day dawn is breaking, the world is awaking,
The clouds of night’s darkness are fleeing away.
The worldwide commotion, from ocean to ocean,
Now heralds the time of the beautiful day.

Yes that is a hymn, and it's not talking about weather, but I thought it was invigorating. Well to add onto that, here is a little trivia...this is another song that is equally invigorating. If you can tell me what it comes from you will receive 1,000 points! Yes that's right, 1,000 points! That's a lot, and you can use them for whatever you wish!...

"Well there's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of everyday!"

Good Luck!

Happy Wedding!

Ok everyone, I made a second blog for the wedding so you can see pictures and hear all the details. Here's the link: robananna.blogspot.com. Please check it out. I've had it done for awhile and have been bad about spreading the word. Sorry! I'll probably keep this blog for after we're married, as our "family" blog as well as this one. How strange to say that. YAY! Hope everyones holidays went spledidly well!
