I signed up to recieve a daily faith building email so I start the day off right. It's like emotional Wheaties. I thought todays was particularly powerful and relevant to many of my current frustrations, and I've been eager to share. It's from a 2009 Ensign article by Ann M. Dibb entitled Be Thou an Example of the Believers.
"..'believers' must be courteous, be honest, speak kindley, and be sincere. These things may seem small and simple, but the Book of Mormon prophet Alma teaches, 'Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise' (Alma 37:6)"
What small and simple things are you doing?

Birthday Surprise

Ok so my birthday was actually two weeks ago but I'm just getting around to writing this...
Hola! Rob decided that he was going to go to Mexico for my birthday this year...by himself. He had the opportunity to do a week long study abroad in Zacatecas, Mexico with the civil engineering department. So I was left to fend for myself, and I had a mighty fine time! I definitely missed him but it was kind of a fun change. I brought out all my bad habits, spent exhorbitant amonuts of time at the gym, had girl time, and slept soundly sprawled accross the entire bed.
What I'm really writing to talk about though, is the fun present Rob put together. He sent me on a little scavenger hunt. For every day he was gone he had one of our neighbors text message me a clue about where one of my birthday presents were hidden. Inside the clue was also a hint as to what the gift was. I got way too many gifts this year but it sure was fun! It's was probably more fun getting a clue and going on the hunt rather than actually having a gift. I always had something to look forward to. I never knew he was so creative. Thanks to everyone that helped! I had a really great time!
