Walking

"All truly great thoughts are conceived by walking."
-Freidrich Nietzsche-

I take a walk pretty much everyday in the middle of work. I have never appreciated walking before. The athlete in me always asks, "Why walk when I can run?". On the contrary, my spiritual side has decided that walking is highly beneficial, not only for my heart and knees, but also for my peace of mind. The best walks are the walks outside with Joleen. It's a simple fact really. Joleen + fresh air= Happier work day. Even in our terrible, red labeled air conditions, being outside is still nice.

Day Planners

At the first of every year I religiously set out to find a new day planner. Now that I have advanced to the status of "working stiff", I decided to move a step beyond the free BYU planner, that Rob graciously provided me with last year, and try the official moleskin notebook. Classy. I know. But really, you all should get one. It's delightful. I feel so much more relaxed now that I have a constant companion to remember for me. I am a list crosser-offer, what else can I say?

Happy New Year

I hope everyone's holiday festivities proved to be a positive experience. I had my first holiday away from home. Let me just say that one of my New Year's resolutions may need to be an attitude improvement. It's hard to spend the first Christmas with the in-laws, but we are now finished, no one hates each other...too much, and I actually did have a good time. I even learned a thing or two. Rob and I volunteered to re-do the dining room walls at his parents house. I learned how to efficiently take down wall paper, and how to re-texture a wall. Though I do not agree with the paint choice--oh well it's not my house--I was happy with our work. I also was pleased as punch to find out that the annual New Year's Eve bash, formerly know as Rob's Rockin New Years Eve, was still held in our absence. Bravo!

Now back to that topic of resolutions. I have been listening to far too many radio announcers claiming that absolutely no one, sticks to their New Years Resolutions. So I decided to stick it to the man and make sure I stuck out a resolution all the way through the year. I have not yet decided what they are but I will give myself one more week to decide. I will ponder fervently on the topic during yoga tonight. Any Suggestions? Maybe blog more than once a year so that you all start reading this again?

Cheers to yearly self improvement!
